Company intelligence / Profile preview
Horizon CombinatoRx was a specialized division of Horizon Discovery Group, formed through the 2014 acquisition of the CombinatoRx service business from Zalicus. The company focused on identifying synergistic drug combinations using its proprietary combination High Throughput Screening (cHTS) platform and Chalice™ bioinformatics software. By screening vast libraries of compounds in combination, the division helped pharmaceutical partners discover new therapeutic applications and improve the efficacy of existing treatments, particularly in oncology and inflammatory diseases. Its technology allowed for the systematic exploration of multi-target mechanisms, providing a unique approach to overcoming drug resistance. Following the acquisition of Horizon Discovery by PerkinElmer in 2020, these capabilities were integrated into the broader Revvity life sciences portfolio.
