JourneyCare, formerly known as Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, is a leading provider of hospice, palliative, and grief support services in the Chicago metropolitan area. Founded in 1982, the organization provides comprehensive end-of-life care, including pain management, emotional support, and spiritual care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. In 2014, it merged with Horizon Hospice & Palliative Care and Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter to form the largest nonprofit hospice provider in Illinois. The organization operates several inpatient hospice centers and provides extensive home-based care, focusing on improving the quality of life for patients and their families. In 2022, JourneyCare's hospice operations were acquired by Addus HomeCare for approximately $85 million.
