High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTi) was a professional services firm specializing in high-performance computing, systems engineering, and software development for federal agencies. Within the healthcare and life sciences sector, HPTi was a prominent contractor for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), providing critical bioinformatics support and health informatics solutions. The company played a key role in supporting the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), including the management of the Sequence Read Archive (SRA), and contributed to the Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG). HPTi was acquired by Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC) in 2011 for approximately $143 million, and its capabilities were later integrated into larger defense and technology firms following subsequent acquisitions.
