HTIC

The Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC) is a multi-disciplinary R&D center established as a joint initiative between the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. HTIC focuses on developing affordable and accessible healthcare technologies, particularly medical devices and digital health solutions tailored for the Indian and global markets. The center collaborates with clinical institutions, government agencies, and industry partners to translate research into field-deployable products. Key areas of innovation include cardiovascular screening, neonatal monitoring, and ophthalmology diagnostics. HTIC also serves as an incubator, supporting numerous startups in the medtech and healthcare sectors.
