HUB Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of branded ophthalmic diagnostic products. Based in the United States, the company established a strong presence in the eye care market with products such as Fluorets, Rose Bengal, and Ful-Glo, which are diagnostic strips used to identify corneal and conjunctival damage. In June 2014, HUB Pharmaceuticals was acquired by Akorn, Inc. for approximately $34 million, a move intended to consolidate Akorn’s leadership in the ophthalmology segment. The company’s portfolio was integrated into Akorn's specialized diagnostics division. However, following the bankruptcy and subsequent liquidation of Akorn, Inc. in 2023, the operations of its subsidiaries, including HUB Pharmaceuticals, were discontinued. The company is currently considered inactive.
