Company intelligence / Profile preview
Hubly Surgical has developed a battery-powered, integrated cranial access drill system with mechanical plunge-prevention and catheter guidance designed to make bedside intracranial access safer and more reproducible inside and outside the operating room. The Hubly drill received FDA 510(k) clearance in May 2023, moving the company from pre-commercial to commercial status. Early clinical adoption includes use at Johns Hopkins, where over 5,000 drills were sold in the initial commercial launch, with reported performance consistent with design goals in improving safety and efficiency for ICU and neurosurgical procedures. A spine drill variant has been submitted for FDA clearance to extend the platform to spinal procedures.
