Huey P. Long Hospital

Huey P. Long Hospital was a public charity hospital located in Pineville, Louisiana, that served the Central Louisiana region for over 75 years. Operated by the LSU Health Care Services Division, the facility provided essential medical services including emergency care, inpatient surgery, and various outpatient clinics, primarily focusing on the uninsured and underinsured populations. It also functioned as a significant clinical training site for medical residents and healthcare professionals in the state. The hospital officially closed its doors in June 2014 following a state-wide restructuring of the Louisiana charity hospital system into public-private partnerships.
