Hyland Immuno

Hyland-Immuno was a specialized division of Baxter International, established through the 1996 acquisition of the Austrian plasma products leader, Immuno AG. The company was a pioneer in the field of transfusion medicine and hematology, focusing on the development of plasma-derived and recombinant therapies for rare blood disorders. Its portfolio featured landmark products such as Advate for hemophilia A and Gammagard for primary immunodeficiency. Hyland-Immuno's operations were central to Baxter's BioScience business, which was later spun off as Baxalta in 2015. Following subsequent acquisitions by Shire and Takeda, the legacy of Hyland-Immuno's research and manufacturing continues to support global treatments for hemophilia and immunology. The division also maintained a strong presence in the vaccine market, particularly with its tick-borne encephalitis vaccine.
