Company intelligence / Profile preview
Hypnion was a neuroscience-focused biotechnology company specializing in the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for sleep disorders and circadian rhythm abnormalities. The company utilized its proprietary SCORE (Sleep-Constitutive Off-line Real-time Evaluation) platform, an automated system for high-throughput screening of sleep-wake states in preclinical models. Its lead candidate, HY10275, was a dual-acting Histamine H1 and 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2A antagonist designed to improve sleep maintenance and onset. In 2007, Eli Lilly acquired Hypnion for $315 million to bolster its neuroscience pipeline, specifically targeting the insomnia market.
