Hypoguard was a prominent medical device company specializing in diabetes management and blood glucose monitoring systems. Founded in the United Kingdom, the company developed a wide range of diagnostic tools, including the Advance, Assure, and Supreme lines of glucose meters, which were widely used by both healthcare professionals and patients. In 2002, Hypoguard was acquired by Medisys PLC to strengthen its position in the global diabetes care market. Subsequently, in 2006, the Hypoguard diabetes business was sold to the Japanese diagnostics leader Arkray. Today, the technology and product legacy of Hypoguard continue to exist under the Arkray brand, supporting global efforts in metabolic disease monitoring.
