i3 was a prominent global pharmaceutical services organization that provided a comprehensive suite of clinical research, data management, and strategic consulting services. Originally established as a division of UnitedHealth Group's Ingenix (now Optum), the company supported the life sciences industry through all phases of drug development, from Phase I through Phase IV. In 2011, i3 was acquired by inVentiv Health for approximately $400 million, a move that integrated i3's deep clinical expertise with inVentiv's commercialization capabilities. The company was particularly recognized for its specialized focus in therapeutic areas such as oncology, central nervous system disorders, and respiratory diseases.
