IASIS Healthcare was a leading for-profit owner and operator of acute care hospitals and outpatient facilities in high-growth urban and suburban markets across the United States. Headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, the company managed a diverse portfolio of medical centers and a managed care business, Health Choice, providing services ranging from emergency care and surgery to behavioral health. At its peak, IASIS operated 18 hospitals with approximately 3,600 licensed beds across states including Arizona, Texas, and Utah. In September 2017, the company was acquired by Steward Health Care System in a transaction valued at approximately $1.9 billion, creating one of the largest private hospital operators in the country.
