Company intelligence / Profile preview
iBio do Brasil was the Brazilian subsidiary of iBio, Inc., established to deploy the parent company's proprietary FastPharming plant-based protein expression platform within the South American market. The entity primarily focused on a strategic partnership with Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz to develop and manufacture recombinant vaccines and biopharmaceuticals, including a high-profile project for a recombinant yellow fever vaccine. This collaboration aimed to provide the Brazilian government with a more scalable and cost-effective alternative to traditional egg-based vaccine production. Following iBio's corporate restructuring and pivot toward AI-driven drug discovery in 2022 and 2023, the subsidiary's operations and its manufacturing-centric mission were discontinued.
