ICORE Healthcare was a specialty pharmacy and medical management company that specialized in managing high-cost specialty drugs for health plans and self-insured employers. The company focused on complex therapeutic areas such as oncology, hemophilia, and autoimmune disorders, providing clinical management and distribution services. ICORE was known for its expertise in both the pharmacy and medical benefits of specialty medications, offering a comprehensive approach to cost containment. In 2006, it was acquired by Magellan Health Services for approximately $210 million plus performance-based earn-outs. Following the acquisition, it served as the foundation for Magellan's specialty drug management business, eventually being integrated into Magellan Rx Management.
