IDL Biotech

IDL Biotech was a Swedish in vitro diagnostics company focused on oncology and bacteriology. The company developed, manufactured, and marketed commercial diagnostic tests including tumor markers such as UBC, TPS, MonoTotal, and TPAcyk, as well as TUBEX TF for typhoid fever. In 2021, IDL Biotech was acquired by AroCell, and the combined business continued to commercialize the IDL product portfolio while also developing TK1-based cancer diagnostics. In May 2025, AroCell formally changed its name to IDL Diagnostics AB, reflecting the commercial importance and brand recognition of the former IDL Biotech franchise. As a result, IDL Biotech is best understood today as an acquired legacy diagnostics company and brand within the current IDL Diagnostics organization.
