IDS Microchip AG was a Swiss medical technology company specializing in the development of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) for highly precise drug delivery applications. The company's core innovation was an implantable microchip designed to store and release therapeutic agents in a controlled, programmed manner, aiming to improve patient compliance in chronic disease management. Originally established as a spin-off from the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM), IDS Microchip focused on miniaturized solutions for the delivery of potent drugs such as hormones and peptides.
