IGF Oncology’s lead drug, IGF-MTX—a methotrexate conjugated to an insulin-like growth factor variant—has shown promising results in preclinical studies and early clinical trials. In a completed Phase 1 trial for advanced solid tumors, it demonstrated efficacy even as a single agent with extremely low side effects. In an ongoing Phase 2a trial at the Mayo Clinic targeting myelodysplastic syndrome, initial results show significant improvement in patients who had failed prior therapies, with no apparent side effects or decrease in blood cell counts. The company reports that both treated patients improved on nearly every disease measure after two months of treatment.
