Overview
IGM Biosciences was developing novel bispecific IgM antibody drugs for autoimmune diseases and cancer. Its two main autoimmune candidates—imvotamab and IGM‑2644—were both discontinued in January 2025 after Phase Ib data showed insufficient B cell depletion in rheumatoid arthritis and lupus patients. The company also minimized spending on its oncology program aplitabart due to strategic refocus. As a result, IGM laid off approximately three quarters of its workforce and began evaluating strategic alternatives including potential sale or merger.

Partnerships
