Company intelligence / Profile preview
Illinois Health & Science (IHS) is a non-profit healthcare holding company based in Decatur, Illinois, that operates as a parent organization for several healthcare-related entities. It gained significant recognition in the life sciences sector through its strategic investments in radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging infrastructure, notably through its subsidiary Zevacor Molecular. IHS established one of the largest private cyclotron facilities in the United States to produce critical medical isotopes, such as Strontium-82, used in PET and SPECT imaging. Although the company divested its commercial radiopharmacy operations to Curium in 2017, it remains a key player in the regional healthcare landscape and the development of medical imaging technology.
