Imation was a global technology company that originated as a spin-off from 3M's data storage and imaging business in 1996. While primarily known for its data storage products, the company maintained a significant presence in the healthcare sector through its medical imaging and information management solutions. Imation's healthcare portfolio included dry laser imaging systems, medical films, and digital image management software designed to streamline radiology workflows. Following years of restructuring and a shift away from its legacy hardware businesses, the company rebranded as Glassbridge Enterprises in 2017, effectively exiting the healthcare and data storage markets to focus on asset management.
