Immune Observatory

Immune Observatory was a Boston/Cambridge-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on high-throughput immunological assay development, serology, data science, and mathematical modeling for global immune surveillance. Founded by Michael Mina, the organization aimed to build a large-scale immune observatory capable of tracking population immunity, pathogen exposure, and infectious disease dynamics to improve pandemic preparedness and public health response. Its activities appear to have centered on surveillance infrastructure, testing-related services, and analytical tools rather than a traditional therapeutic drug pipeline. Public records indicate it operated as Immune Observatory Incorporated in Massachusetts and received U.S. tax-exempt recognition in 2020. Third-party records also indicate its federal tax-exempt status was later automatically revoked for non-filing, and there is no clear evidence of an ongoing active operating organization as of 2026.
