Immunivest

Immunivest Corporation was a biotechnology company that specialized in the development of intellectual property and technologies for cancer diagnostics. The company is best known for developing the foundational technology for the CellSearch System, which was the first diagnostic platform cleared by the FDA for the enrichment and enumeration of circulating tumor cells (CTCs). This technology provides critical prognostic information for patients with metastatic breast, colorectal, and prostate cancers by identifying epithelial cells in the blood. Originally a subsidiary of Immunicon Corporation, Immunivest's assets were acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2008 and were later transitioned to Menarini-Silicon Biosystems.
