Immuno US

Immuno-U.S. was the United States subsidiary of the Austrian pharmaceutical giant Immuno AG, which specialized in the development and manufacture of blood products, vaccines, and biological therapeutics. The company was a global leader in plasma-derived therapies, notably producing treatments for hemophilia and surgical sealants like Tisseel. Immuno AG was also well-known for developing the first vaccine against tick-borne encephalitis (FSME-Immun). In 1996, the company was acquired by Baxter International for approximately $715 million, significantly expanding Baxter's presence in the global biologics and transfusion medicine markets. The legacy of Immuno's portfolio continues today through the products integrated into Baxter and its subsequent spin-offs, Baxalta and Shire (now part of Takeda).
