Company intelligence / Profile preview
Impact Biomedicines was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing therapies for myeloproliferative neoplasms and other cancers. The company's lead asset was fedratinib, a potent and highly selective oral small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 2 (JAK2). Impact was established to advance fedratinib after the program was previously halted by Sanofi, successfully resolving safety concerns and preparing the drug for regulatory submission. In 2018, the company was acquired by Celgene for $1.1 billion upfront, with total potential deal value reaching $7 billion. Fedratinib subsequently received FDA approval in 2019 as Inrebic for the treatment of adult patients with intermediate-2 or high-risk primary or secondary myelofibrosis.
