Company intelligence / Profile preview
Indigo Orb was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development of novel therapies for ocular surface diseases. The company's lead asset, IO-101, is a topical selective glucocorticoid receptor modulator (SGRM) designed to treat dry eye disease. IO-101 was engineered to provide the potent anti-inflammatory benefits of traditional corticosteroids while minimizing the risk of common steroid-induced side effects, such as increased intraocular pressure and cataract formation. In September 2023, Indigo Orb was acquired by Bausch + Lomb to strengthen its comprehensive portfolio of dry eye treatments. The acquisition integrated Indigo Orb's SGRM technology into Bausch + Lomb's established ophthalmology pipeline.
