Industrial Technology Institute

The Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) is a premier statutory research and development organization in Sri Lanka, operating under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Originally established in 1955 as the Ceylon Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (CISIR), ITI provides a broad spectrum of scientific services, including contract research, analytical testing, and technology transfer for the life sciences, food, and manufacturing sectors. The institute's biotechnology and herbal technology divisions are particularly active in developing standardized natural products, molecular diagnostic tools, and food safety solutions.
