Infant-Driven Feeding

Infant-Driven Feeding is a neonatal education company and program brand focused on improving oral feeding outcomes for premature and medically fragile infants in NICU settings. The company developed an evidence-based, research-supported online education program and associated Infant-Driven Feeding Scales used by neonatal professionals to guide cue-based, neurodevelopmental, family-centered feeding practice. Founded by neonatal therapists Sue Ludwig and Kara Ann Waitzman, the business was acquired in 2018 by Dr. Brown’s Medical, a division of Handi-Craft. Today the Infant-Driven Feeding program appears to operate as a commercial education offering within Dr. Brown’s Medical, serving hospitals and neonatal units with training, implementation support, and related feeding-practice resources.
