Company intelligence / Profile preview
Information Design Associates (IDA) was a specialized healthcare information technology company and contract research organization (CRO) that focused on clinical trial data management. Based in Reston, Virginia, the company provided software solutions and services designed to streamline the collection, cleaning, and analysis of clinical data for pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms. IDA was a pioneer in the transition from paper-based clinical trials to electronic data capture (EDC) and integrated clinical data management systems (CDMS). In December 1999, the company was acquired by Phase Forward for approximately $25.4 million, a move that significantly expanded Phase Forward's service offerings and market share in the eClinical space. The legacy of IDA's technology eventually became part of the Oracle Health Sciences suite following Oracle's acquisition of Phase Forward in 2010.
