Inhibetex Therapeutics

Inhibetex Therapeutics was a preclinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development of small molecule inhibitors targeting the Mcl-1 protein for the treatment of cancer. Founded as a spin-out from the University of Michigan, the company leveraged research into the Bcl-2 family of proteins to design potent and selective antagonists aimed at inducing apoptosis in tumor cells. Its primary focus was on hematologic malignancies and certain solid tumors where Mcl-1 overexpression is a known driver of resistance to standard therapies. While the company was active in the late 2010s, its programs and intellectual property were largely integrated into or superseded by the broader portfolio of its founders' subsequent ventures, such as Ascentage Pharma.
