InjecTx

InjecTx was a medical device company based in San Jose, California, specializing in minimally invasive urological and oncological treatments. Founded by Ashvin Desai, the company developed the InjecTx endoscopic device, a platform for transurethral ethanol injection therapy (TEAP) to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and potentially prostate cancer. The company also produced the BioSling, a bioabsorbable polymer sling for stress urinary incontinence (SUI), which received FDA 510(k) clearance. Despite clinical validation and strategic investment from American Medical Systems (AMS), InjecTx faced commercial hurdles, leading AMS to write off its investment in 2008. The company is currently inactive, with its technologies having been part of the broader portfolio of pelvic health solutions in the early 2000s.
