Inlet Medical was a medical device company based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, that specialized in developing and commercializing innovative surgical tools for laparoscopic and women's health procedures. The company was best known for its Carter-Thomason CloseSure System, a premier trocar closure device used by surgeons to prevent post-operative incisional hernias by ensuring consistent and reliable fascial closure. Inlet Medical's product portfolio also included various laparoscopic suture passers and procedure kits for treating pelvic support issues. In November 2005, the company was acquired by CooperSurgical, a subsidiary of The Cooper Companies, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition allowed CooperSurgical to strengthen its position in the minimally invasive surgery market and expand its offering of specialized surgical instruments.
