Overview

Innocrin Pharmaceuticals was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing small molecule therapies for hormone-dependent cancers. The company's lead asset, seviteronel (VT-464), is a selective CYP17 lyase inhibitor and androgen receptor antagonist designed to treat prostate and breast cancers. Spun out from Viamet Pharmaceuticals in 2014, Innocrin aimed to provide better-tolerated and more effective treatments for patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer and AR-positive triple-negative breast cancer. In October 2020, the company was acquired by Exelixis, which integrated seviteronel into its oncology development pipeline. The acquisition allowed Exelixis to expand its portfolio beyond its flagship product, Cabometyx.
