Company intelligence / Profile preview
Innodia Inc. was a Montreal-based biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of metabolic diseases, particularly Type 2 Diabetes. The company's lead research centered on insulin sensitizers and dual PPAR alpha/gamma agonists designed to improve glucose control and lipid profiles. Innodia was originally established as a subsidiary of the French firm Bio-Inova before operating independently and eventually merging with ViroChem Pharma in 2008. Following the merger, the combined entity was subsequently acquired by Vertex Pharmaceuticals in 2009, effectively integrating Innodia's metabolic research into Vertex's broader pipeline.
