Innovation Investment Capital (IIC) is a £50 million equity investment fund established by the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) to support high-growth, technology-driven enterprises in Southeast Wales. Launched in 2022, the fund provides "patient capital" investments typically ranging from £2 million to £7 million, focusing on priority sectors such as Medtech, life sciences, fintech, and compound semiconductors. IIC is structured as an Alternative Investment Fund managed by Capricorn Fund Managers, with PwC providing investment research and advisory services. The fund's portfolio includes innovative life science companies such as Antiverse, which utilizes artificial intelligence for antibody drug discovery. IIC aims to drive regional economic growth by creating high-value jobs and fostering sustainable innovation across its ten unitary authorities.
