Innovative Cancer Drug Research (ICDR) was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development of personalized immunotherapy for various forms of cancer. The company specialized in autologous dendritic cell vaccines, a platform technology that utilizes a patient's own immune cells to target tumor-initiating cells, also known as cancer stem cells. Under the leadership of Dr. Robert O. Dillman, ICDR conducted several clinical trials, most notably in metastatic melanoma, glioblastoma multiforme, and ovarian cancer. The company's research demonstrated significant improvements in overall survival for patients receiving these patient-specific treatments. In 2016, the technology and clinical assets of ICDR were transitioned to AIVITA Biomedical to facilitate further development and commercialization.
