The Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (IMCRC) was an Australian independent, non-profit organization that catalyzed investment in manufacturing innovation through collaborative R&D. Operating from 2016 to 2022, the center focused on transitioning Australian manufacturing into high-value sectors, with a significant emphasis on Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals (MTP). IMCRC provided co-funding and project management for over 70 industry-led projects, partnering with universities and research institutions to develop advanced manufacturing solutions. Key focus areas included additive manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and digital transformation within the healthcare and life sciences supply chains. The organization successfully concluded its planned seven-year term in late 2022, having facilitated over $230 million in total project investment.
