Innovative Micro Technology, commonly known as IMT, is a Santa Barbara, California-based MEMS and microfabrication company that has rebranded as Atomica. The company operates as a commercial foundry and manufacturing partner providing design support, prototyping, process development, metrology, testing, and scalable production for MEMS, photonics, sensors, and microfluidic biochips. While it is not a therapeutic drug developer, it supports healthcare and life sciences applications through biochips and microfluidic devices used in areas such as genomics, molecular diagnostics, DNA sequencing, cell therapy workflows, nanopumps, and cell sorting. Its business model is platform- and services-oriented rather than pipeline-driven, with customers spanning healthcare, telecommunications, automotive, aerospace and defense, industrial, and consumer markets. Atomica describes itself as the largest MEMS foundry in the United States and operates a large manufacturing campus with cleanroom infrastructure in Santa Barbara.
