Company intelligence / Profile preview
Innovative Technology Acquisition Corp. (later known as Galea Life Sciences) was a biotechnology and healthcare company primarily focused on the development and distribution of therapeutic nutritional supplements and functional foods. The company gained prominence through its acquisition of BioSource Therapeutics in 2002, which brought in a pipeline of products designed to improve the quality of life for patients with chronic conditions such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, and cancer. Its lead products included Nutraplete, a dietary supplement aimed at regulating pro-oxidant balance and restoring lean muscle mass in immune-compromised individuals, and Virilite, a product targeting decreased sex drive. Although the company was publicly traded, it faced significant regulatory challenges and was eventually delinquent in its SEC filings, leading to the revocation of its securities registration in 2013.
