Innoviant Pharmacy

Innoviant was a national pharmacy benefit management (PBM) and specialty pharmacy company that provided transparent prescription drug programs and clinical services. Founded to offer an alternative to traditional PBM models, the company focused on cost-containment strategies and clinical oversight for self-funded employers, third-party administrators, and labor unions. Its service portfolio included pharmacy claims processing, formulary management, and a dedicated specialty pharmacy division known as Innoviant Pharmacy. The company was recognized for its pass-through pricing model, which aimed to align interests between the PBM and the plan sponsor. In 2010, Innoviant was acquired by the health insurance giant Humana to bolster its internal PBM capabilities and specialty pharmacy offerings. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into Humana Pharmacy Solutions.
