Inplantable Acoustics

Implantable Acoustics was a medical device company founded by the prolific entrepreneur Alfred E. Mann to develop fully implantable hearing aids. Based in Valencia, California, the company focused on middle ear implant technology designed to treat sensorineural hearing loss without the need for external components. It was part of the Alfred Mann Foundation's portfolio of biomedical startups, which also included Advanced Bionics and MannKind. The company's primary goal was to create a device that utilized the ear's natural anatomy to provide high-fidelity sound for the hearing impaired. Although the company conducted clinical research and developed advanced acoustic transducers, it is no longer active and its technology was largely superseded by other developments in the hearing health sector.
