The Institut für onkologische und immunologische Forschung (IOIF) was a German biotechnology research organization that served as the primary R&D subsidiary of MOLOGEN AG. Based in Berlin-Buch, the institute specialized in the development of novel DNA-based immunotherapies and TLR9 agonists using its proprietary dSLIM (double Stem Loop Immunomodulator) platform. Its research efforts were centered on activating the patient's immune system to combat cancer and infectious diseases like HIV. The institute's most advanced candidate, lefitolimod, underwent extensive clinical testing, including a Phase 3 trial for colorectal cancer. Following the insolvency of its parent company in late 2019, the institute's operations were discontinued.
