Institute of Human Virology Nigeria

The Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) is a leading non-governmental organization established in 2004 to address the HIV/AIDS crisis in Nigeria through expanded treatment, care, and support. Affiliated with the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, IHVN has evolved into a multi-disease research and implementation powerhouse focusing on tuberculosis, malaria, COVID-19, and non-communicable diseases. The organization operates the International Research Center of Excellence (IRCE), which facilitates world-class laboratory research, clinical trials, and public health training. IHVN plays a critical role in the Nigerian healthcare landscape by partnering with the government to strengthen health systems and implement large-scale donor-funded programs.
