Institute Torlak

Institute Torlak is a state-owned national health institution in Serbia dedicated to the research, production, and distribution of vaccines, sera, and diagnostic reagents. Established in 1924, the institute is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in the world and plays a critical role in the Balkan region's public health infrastructure. Its product portfolio includes essential vaccines for the national immunization program, such as BCG, DTP, and influenza vaccines, as well as anti-tetanus and anti-rabies sera. Notably, Torlak has established international collaborations for the local production of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, highlighting its capabilities in large-scale biological manufacturing. The institute also provides comprehensive laboratory diagnostic services for viral and bacterial infections.
