Company intelligence / Profile preview
Integrated Lens Technology (ILT) was a medical device company focused on the development of advanced intraocular lenses (IOLs) for ophthalmic surgery. The company is best known for creating the enVista IOL, a hydrophobic acrylic lens designed to be entirely free of glistenings, which are micro-vacuoles that can form in lens materials and degrade visual quality. This innovation addressed a significant clinical need in cataract surgery, providing surgeons with a more stable and clear optic material. In January 2012, ILT was acquired by Bausch + Lomb, a move that allowed the latter to significantly expand its surgical portfolio. Today, the technology developed by ILT remains a cornerstone of Bausch + Lomb's global intraocular lens offerings.
