Company intelligence / Profile preview
Interbanca was a prominent Italian investment and merchant bank that specialized in providing medium- and long-term financing, corporate finance advisory, and private equity services to medium-sized enterprises. While it was a significant financier for various sectors including healthcare and life sciences in Italy, it operated strictly as a financial institution rather than a biotechnology or pharmaceutical developer. The company underwent several ownership changes, being acquired by GE Capital in 2008 and subsequently by Banca IFIS in 2016. Following its integration into Banca IFIS, the Interbanca brand was eventually retired as its operations were merged into the parent group's corporate banking division.
