International Multifoods

International Multifoods Corporation was a prominent diversified food company headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Founded in 1892 as a flour milling operation, the company grew into a global producer of branded consumer foods, bakery products, and food service distribution. Its portfolio featured iconic brands such as Robin Hood flour, Kretschmer wheat germ, and various Pillsbury-branded baking mixes under license. In addition to consumer goods, the company maintained a presence in animal nutrition through its Supersweet Feeds division and explored food biotechnology applications in its research centers. In 2004, the company was acquired by The J.M. Smucker Company in a transaction valued at approximately $840 million. Following the merger, Smucker integrated the core brands while divesting certain non-core assets to other industry players.
