Phase Forward, originally founded as International Servo Data in 1997, was a pioneering provider of integrated data management solutions for clinical trials and drug safety. The company's flagship product, InForm, was a market-leading electronic data capture (EDC) platform that transitioned the clinical research industry from paper-based records to web-based data entry. By providing real-time access to trial data, Phase Forward enabled pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to streamline their development processes and improve regulatory compliance. The company expanded its capabilities through the acquisition of firms like Lincoln Technologies for drug safety and Clarix for interactive response technology. After a successful IPO in 2004, Phase Forward was acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2010 for approximately $685 million. Today, its legacy technologies form a critical component of the Oracle Health Sciences suite, supporting global clinical research and pharmacovigilance.
