IntraLuminal Therapeutics was a medical device company focused on developing innovative solutions for the treatment of chronic total occlusions (CTO) in the coronary and peripheral vasculature. The company's core technology, the Crosser Ultrasonic Recanalization System, used high-frequency mechanical vibrations to penetrate calcified blockages that are otherwise difficult to cross with standard guidewires. This ultrasonic technology was designed to improve success rates in minimally invasive interventional procedures, potentially reducing the need for more invasive surgical bypasses. Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Carlsbad, California, the company successfully commercialized its products globally. In 2006, IntraLuminal Therapeutics was acquired by FlowCardia, which was later integrated into C. R. Bard and subsequently Becton Dickinson.
