Introgen Technical Services

Introgen Technical Services was the manufacturing and technical operations subsidiary of Introgen Therapeutics, a pioneer in the field of gene-based medicines. Based in Houston, Texas, the company operated a specialized cGMP facility designed for the large-scale production of viral vectors, including adenoviral and retroviral systems. Its primary mission was to support the clinical development and commercial scale-up of Advexin (INGN 201), a p53-based gene therapy that reached Phase 3 clinical trials for head and neck cancer. Following the financial collapse and bankruptcy of its parent company in late 2008, Introgen Technical Services ceased independent operations. Its intellectual property and manufacturing assets were subsequently liquidated and acquired by various entities, most notably MultiVir, to continue the development of the p53 therapy platform.
