Overview
Introgen was a pioneer in gene therapy for oncology, with its lead product ADVEXIN® targeting the p53 pathway. ADVEXIN showed increased survival and tumor control in recurrent head and neck cancer patients across multiple global Phase I–III trials. The company submitted a BLA to the FDA and an MAA to the EMEA for this indication but faced regulatory setbacks. Financial difficulties led to Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in late 2008.[1][5]
